1. An Overview of Data Protection

General Information

The following notes provide a simple overview of what happens to your personal data when you visit this website. Personal data is any data with which you can be personally identified. Detailed information on the subject of data protection can be found in our privacy policy listed below this text.

Data Recording on This Website

Who is responsible for data recording on this website?

The data processing on this website is carried out by the website operator. You can find the operator’s contact details in the “Information about the Responsible Party” section of this privacy policy.

How do we record your data?

Your data is collected when you communicate it to us (for example, by sending us an email). Other data is recorded automatically by our IT systems when you visit the landing page (such as technical log data) or when you explicitly sign up for our newsletter via the registration button.

2. Information about the Responsible Party (Controller)

The party responsible for data processing on this website is:

[Your Company Name / Your Name] [Street and House Number] [Postal Code, City] [Country]

Phone: [Your Phone Number] Email: [Your Email Address]

3. General Information and Mandatory Information

Revocation of Your Consent to Data Processing

Many data processing operations are only possible with your express consent. You can revoke consent you have already given at any time. The legality of the data processing carried out until the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.

Right to File a Complaint with the Competent Supervisory Authority

In the event of violations of the GDPR, data subjects have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of their habitual residence, place of work, or place of the alleged infringement.

Right to Data Portability

You have the right to have data that we process automatically on the basis of your consent or in fulfillment of a contract handed over to you or to a third party in a common, machine-readable format.

Information, Correction, Erasure, and Restriction

Within the framework of the applicable legal provisions, you have the right at any time to free information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipient, and the purpose of the data processing and, if necessary, a right to correction, restriction, or erasure of this data.

4. Hosting of the Landing Page

Hosting via Kit

Our landing page is hosted on the infrastructure of our email marketing provider, Kit (Kit LLC, 750 W Bannock St #761, Boise, Idaho 83702, USA). When you visit our landing page, personal data (such as your IP address, browser information, and connection timestamps) is processed and stored directly on Kit’s servers in the United States.

Legal Basis: The use of Kit for hosting our landing page is based on Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest) to ensure a secure, fast, and stable provision of our online platform.

Data Transfer & Safety: Kit LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (DPF). We have also concluded a Data Processing Addendum (DPA) incorporating the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) to structurally secure this transfer.

5. Email Contact (Inbound Correspondence)

Data Processing via mailbox.org

We do not use a contact form on this website. If you contact us via email, your email address, your message, and all associated metadata will be processed and stored by our email provider, mailbox.org (Heinlein Support GmbH, Schwiebusser Str. 9, 10965 Berlin, Germany).

Legal Basis: The processing of this data is based on Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR if your request is related to the performance of a contract or is necessary for pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, the processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective processing of the inquiries addressed to us (Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR).

Storage Duration: The data you send to us via email remains with us until you request us to delete it, revoke your consent to storage, or the purpose for data storage lapses (e.g., after final completion of your request). Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular statutory retention periods – remain unaffected.

6. Newsletter and Email Marketing via Kit

Scope and Purpose of Processing

We use the platform Kit (Kit LLC, 750 W Bannock St #761, Boise, Idaho 83702, USA) to manage our subscriber lists and send newsletters.

If you register for our newsletter using the clearly labeled registration form and button on our landing page, the data you enter (such as your email address and name) is transmitted to Kit’s US servers. Kit provides statistical analysis options, enabling us to track whether our newsletters are opened and which links within the emails are clicked.

Proof of Consent (Double Opt-In Verification & Logging)

Your subscription is based on a double opt-in procedure to ensure legal compliance. After submitting your data via the registration button, a confirmation email is sent to your address. By actively clicking the verification link in that email, you explicitly confirm your subscription. Upon this confirmation click, Kit automatically logs and stores:

  • Your IP address at the time of confirmation.
  • The exact date and timestamp of the confirmation.

Legal Basis: The newsletter subscription and the associated logging of the confirmation details are strictly based on your explicit consent pursuant to Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR. You can withdraw this consent at any time by clicking the “Unsubscribe” link in any email footer.

Storage & Blacklist Retention Duration: If you unsubscribe, your profile is removed from the active mailing list. However, to legally prove that you gave valid consent in the past and to prevent further automated emails, your email address, registration IP, and confirmation timestamp will be permanently stored in a blacklist (unsubscribed status) within Kit. This serves our legitimate compliance interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR.

7. Cookies and Storage Technologies

Storage Technologies Used on Our Landing Page

Our landing page sets no cookies. It stores two entries in your browser’s local storage:

  • ckid
  • cksubscribed-… (the suffix varies per form)

These entries are set by our provider Kit and serve to associate your browser with the subscription form and to remember that the form has already been submitted on this device.

We do not use any external tracking, analytics, or advertising services on this page, and we do not use a cookie banner.

Legal Framework

In accordance with German law, the storage of information on your end device and access to information already stored on your end device is governed by § 25 TDDDG (Telekommunikation-Digitale-Dienste-Datenschutz-Gesetz). The legal basis for any subsequent processing of personal data derived from these storage elements is our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR in providing a functional and secure website.

Should we introduce additional storage technologies or third-party services on this page, we will update this policy accordingly.
